2019 was an exciting year for SRSA Commercial Real Estate – from new employees, groundbreaking new real estate projects, to new milestones – check out some of our biggest highlights for the past year:

1. Clearview City Center Unveiled
In early December the vision for Clearview City Center was unveiled to the public. The approximately 700,000 SF new shopping center will feature an outdoor corridor with a rotating selection of food trucks, open air restaurants, and an amphitheater stage. A 14,000 SF green space will host outdoor events and concerts. A 260 room upscale apartment complex and a hotel tower with rooftop pool will add to Metairie's skyline. The old Sears building will be converted into new retail space that will be connected to a medical office building. The new shopping center will still have many favorite shops and restaurants including Bed Bath & Beyond, Zea, AMC Theaters, and Walk-Ons. We are proud to be the exclusive leasing agency for Clearview City Center. See our press release for more information.

2. Shoppes at Emerald Corner
Once the site of a former K-Mart in Mandeville, developers Clark Heebe and Brett Davis of D & H Investment Properties envisioned a new 48,000 SF shopping center that would bring new and exciting businesses to the Hwy 190 retail corridor. Demolition of the old K-Mart began in late November headed by BSD Construction. For more information, see our flyer to contact Steve Reisig & Stephanie Hilferty. We can't wait to share the great tenants coming to this retail center in the coming months.

3. New Buildings along Airline Hwy & N Causeway Blvd
2121 Airline Hwy II, a proposed mixed-use office or retail building, will join the existing 2121 building along Airline Hwy in Metairie. For more information, contact Sandra Corrigan & Stephanie Boyd or see our flyers for the mixed-use and office building.

Across the highway next to Life Storage, 2600 Airline Hwy will be a new retail shopping center for the Old Metairie community. The proposed retail development is located across from Rouses and Labarre Retail Shopping Center. See our flyer to contact Kirsten Early & Stephanie Hilferty.

4. Four new employees hired
2019 was a year of great personal growth for our company with the hiring of Veronica Liu (GIS Specialist), Rachel Audibert (Leasing Associate), Justin Kornrumpf (Senior Property Manager), and Christopher Robertson (Senior Real Estate Analyst). In May, Rachel graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans and in November, became a licensed real estate agent. In November, Justin was nominated to the IREM Leadership 2020 Board of Directors.

5. Agent Stephanie Hilferty wins reelection to the Louisiana House of Representatives
Our own Stephanie Hilferty won reelection to the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 94 in a runoff race by 58.7%. In the Legislature, she has been an advocate for better spending on infrastructure, job creation, and early childhood education.

Kirsten Early won "Retail Sale of the Year" for her sale of 6700-6800 Siegen Plaza in Baton Rouge. In September, Barry Spizer was recognized by New Orleans City Business for "Excellence in Construction & Real Estate."

7. 6001 Magazine Street's exterior construction is completed & leased to Starbucks and Club Pilates
The 7,700 SF 6001 Magazine St is the newest addition to the area's retail corridor. The site is developed by Brian Gibbs & Clay Cambre, designed by local architectural firm Metro-Studio, and built by Gibbs Construction. Exterior construction of the new shopping center began in the summer of this year, and finished in October. The interior construction for Starbucks and Club Pilates has not yet started. If you would like to learn more about the 3,294 SF divisible space still available, please see our flyer to contact our Director of Retail Kirsten Early.
