Trader Joe's has opened its newest Louisiana location at 2428 Napoleon Avenue, bringing the popular grocer to Uptown New Orleans for the first time. SRSA Real Estate's Director of Retail, Kirsten Early, represented the grocer in securing the site.
For Kirsten, who has represented her client across Louisiana for years, the new Uptown store marks their fourth location in the state and third in the Greater New Orleans area, adding to a growing footprint in the region.
"We are thrilled to be part of this exciting milestone for the Freret Street corridor and to have played a role in bringing Trader Joe's to Uptown's vibrant and historic community," said Kirsten.
The approximately 10,000-square-foot store is situated at the corner of Napoleon Avenue and Freret Street on the former site of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Kirsten collaborated on the deal with Rich Lobkowicz and Christopher Mearn of District Real Estate Advisors and Sharukh Dinshah of IDS Real Estate Group. The sellers in the transaction were 2428 Napoleon Ave, LLC dba Kupperman Companies, represented by Zach Kupperman, and David and Mimi Fuselier.
The store celebrated its grand opening on June 12 with live music, a bag giveaway, and samples. Through the company's Neighborhood Shares Program, 100% of consumable unsold products will be donated to local nonprofits and community organizations seven days a week.
Trader Joe's first entered Louisiana with a Baton Rouge location in 2013, followed by a Metairie store in 2016 and a Mid-City New Orleans location in August 2025.
