Shannon is an energetic professional known for her exceptional ability to forge and nurture relationships, both locally and internationally, that drive synergistic business opportunities benefiting communities. Currently, Shannon plays a pivotal role in her capacity by collaborating with community leaders and partners on substantial commercial real estate transactions. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Loyola University New Orleans and is dedicated to the practical education of our local emerging work force.
Her career trajectory includes a significant tenure as the Lake Nona Community Manager at Tavistock Development Company. During her time there, Shannon orchestrated the planning, marketing, and execution of over 700 community events annually, drawing in up to 8000 attendees. Her dedication yielded instrumental relationships, culminating in pivotal strategic partnerships with numerous local and international entities, including the launch of the first public community autonomous vehicle transportation program.
With Shannon’s association, Tavistock’s alliances expanded to include renowned figures such as Deepak Chopra, Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Oz, Brooke Shields, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Alice Walton. Their collaborations led to the successful execution of conferences and strategic events in support of the Lake Nona Impact Forum and Life Project. Notably, her acumen was also instrumental in driving a remarkable 114% revenue increase within two years for a private events venue on the property, which paved the way for larger projects including the development of the Lake Nona Wave Hotel and Boxi Park.
Shannon’s multifaceted career encompasses diverse experiences, including her role as a Wedding Coordinator for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings and as a PR Strategist at Deveney Communication. In the latter capacity, she closely collaborated with local hospitality, tourism, and healthcare organizations.
Shannon holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University New Orleans. Her excellence has been recognized through accolades such as the 2014 Small Business Institute National Project of the Year, the 2008 National PRSSA Bateman Competition and 2009 Outstanding Public Relations Graduate. Her dedication and achievements earned her the 2019 Tavistock “Taking the Bull by the Horns” Award and the title of a Lifestyle Director of the Year from the National Builders Association.
In her spare time, Shannon can always be found out and about in the Marigny neighborhood, checking out the newest local eatery or supporting her husband as a professional musician in and around the Quarter. She has a very active 10-month-old son, and an even more active love for the New Orleans Saints (happy football season!).
