Mike Hilferty, Director of Property Management for SRSA Gulf South Management, is an expert in his field, with 35 years of combined commercial real estate management and leasing experience. In addition to direct responsibility for a 13-property medical office building portfolio and 120,000 square foot office tower, he supervises a property management/engineering staff of 30 employees and is responsible for new business development.
In 2021, Hilferty will celebrate 20 years with SRSA. Prior to this role, Hilferty was a property manager and leasing agent for global real estate broker, Cushman & Wakefield. During his three-year tenure, he managed and leased ten Medical Office Buildings (MOBs) on three different hospital campuses and successfully negotiated the full execution of 70 leases. He regularly communicated with the hospital CEOs, CFOs and physicians.
Hilferty’s wide range of property management experience includes positions with some of the Gulf South’s most well-known companies, including Corporate Realty, John Kushner & Associates, the Metairie Galleria, and Joseph C. Canizaro Interests. In addition to managing properties throughout Louisiana, he has overseen properties in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
In 2007, Hilferty was Chapter president for the Institute of Real Estate Management Chapter 55 (Louisiana), and in 2009 and 2016 the Chapter selected him as Property Manager of the year. He received the Certified Property Manager designation (CPM) from IREM in 1991, and also holds the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). He is a member of IREM and the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors (NOMAR). Additional achievements include management of at least 50 office buildings, shopping centers, apartments, hotels and industrial properties throughout the aforementioned states. He remains actively involved with IREM and has been Director of Programs for almost 15 years.
Hilferty received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Loyola University. He is a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana. His oldest daughter, Stephanie, is a Senior Leasing Agent with SRSA.
